Hi! We are a voluntary ran committee here to manage and maintain the beautiful Lake Lascelles and award-winning Mallee Bush Retreat which is an ideal stop for not only the weary traveller but people seeking adventure and excitement.
The rustic and sturdy theme of corrugated iron, timber and simplistic lines combine and represent the pioneering farm heritage of the area and presents an ideal meeting place on Wergaia Country.
The complex offers a range of unique accommodation options including twin rooms and bunk style rooms all set in an outstanding natural environment. Lake Lascelles also offers powered sites as well as free camping around the lake's water front.
Located just 500m from the town centre of Hopetoun Vic, the Mallee Bush Retreat invites travellers to enjoy the beauties of the region and support the hardworking local businesses.
Settlement
When early settlement of this region began in 1846, waters from the Yarriambiack Creek emptied into the terminal lakes of Lake Corrong, Lake Lascelles and beyond in times of heavy rains.

The Mallee Bush Retreat relies heavily on donations to ensure that our lake remains full, camp grounds stay well maintained and are continuously upgraded and so we can run events such as New Years Eve for people to enjoy and for groups and businesses to benefit of.
